Toque Torque: New Client Bonanza!

Chris Uberti & I gravel it up in Athens. GA
So whenever I stop blogging it usually means one of two things, I'm either cracked or just overwhelmed. Fortunately recently the latter has dogged by writing time, which is especially important since I better not be cracked...the season is only 20 days away! Why have I been so busy? Fortunately Toque Torque Coaching has welcomed a few new clients as the online registrations open for summer gran fondos and races.

A new challenge for me as a coach with be working with a few riders who are targeting extra long endurance rides, like the 10hr Seattle-Portland or the Kelowna-Vancouver fundraising trek. These 'expeditions' will be a little different than a normal race; however for most of the clients, their preparations will follow the same basic principles that I've used for the previous 4 seasons. These include but in no particular order: 1) Teach your muscles pedaling efficiency, 2) become a connoisseur of your bicycle, 3) attain knowledge and control of your nutrition & blood sugar and 4) ultimately discover how to maximize your performance through mental training. It seems daunting at first but many have reached great success.

The key? Consistency from day to day through small sustainable changes and goals that agree with your current life stress. Do you want to make a change to your life or training and in search of a new mentor? I still have a few spots available for this season and prefer to avoid taking on new clients during the race season (for the most part) so if you are interested, check us out for more information and testimonials at Toque Torque Coaching.  Looking forward to meeting you!
