A New Season

Spring training camps, right now you're either at one or dreaming of one. At least that is what my Jedi mind skills are saying since someone changed the clock on the stove.  I guess that also means that we all get one extra hour to ride each evening...does that mean we also get to enjoy an extra post-training beer too?

Don't miss the team's new 2013 commercial plus a review from team camp.

Here on the road, March also marks the opening of the season. Last week we had Team Smartstop p/b Mountain Khakis' team camp in Winston-Salem, NC and for the first time in my professional career I totally botched my camp by coming down with a chest infection. Not great when you are already asthmatic! Although the camp didn't go how my legs planned, the team did create a sizable amount of online content for your enjoyment.  This year we have a new website (2013 Website) and were recently featured by Slow-Twitch.com. I'm also really excited to announce that I have a feature in Canadian Cycling Magazine coming up in the near future. The quality of that publication has always impressed me so I'm pumped that I've earned the chance to connect with them.

With the first USACrits and NCC (National Criterium Calendar) race out of the way this past weekend, the team is regrouping after a hard start. Various problems caused a less than ideal result but my new teammate Shane Kline did salvage the day with a 5th place in the sprint. The race in Tucson, Arizona also provided the chance to train here in Tucson for a few days before we take off for the next two races in Tampa Bay and Delray Beach, Florida respectively and with the help of a little vitamin D and the dryness of the desert, my health is back to normal and the sensations are strong.
